NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Arizona Beach Volleyball team went on the road Friday, playing in the SFA Invitational on the campus of Stephen F. Austin and came away with a pair of 5-0 victories to increase their winning streak to four matches.
 
The Wildcats are now 12-3 overall on the season.
 
Leading the way on the day was the No. 3 pair of Alana Rennie and Grace Cook, who improved to 13-1 at that spot in the lineup this season, with a pair of straight set victories. They did not allow their opponents to score more than 14 points in any set.
 
The No. 1 pair of Sarah Blacker and Alex Parkhurst also won all four of the sets they played on the day to improve to 10-4 on the season.
 
Hope Shannon and Abby Russell at the No. 2 pair won their first match of the day in two sets before battling to a three set win against SFA in the second match.
 
It took a third set in the opening match against UCA for Kali Uhl and Dilara Gedikoglu to come away with the win before they cruised to a 21-9, 21-10 win against SFA.
 
And at the No. 5 pair spot, Miranda Erro and Annie Kost easily won their first match, 21-9, 21-11, and then dropped the first set against SFA, 24-22, and then rallied to win the second and third sets to get the win.
 
Next week, the Wildcats will be at Arizona State on Wednesday before returning home for Alumni Weekend at the Arizona Spring Challenge on Friday and Saturday.
