TUCSON, Ariz. - Four Arizona swimmers and one Arizona diver picked up CSCAA All-American honors for their performances at the NCAA Men's National Championships last week in Minneapolis, Minn.
Arizona's Marin Ercegovic, Seth Miller, Tommy Palmer and Ryan Perham were each awarded All-American honors for their 200-freestyle relay race. This is the same relay team that set an Arizona program record in the 200 free at the 2023 Men's Pac-12 Championships earlier this month. Last week, the Cats secured a 12th place finish in the race competing alongside the fastest swimmers in the nation.
For Palmer, a freshman, and Miller, a junior, this is their first All-American award, and their first time competing at the National Championships. This is junior Ryan Perham's first award as well, after receiving a CSCAA All-American Honorable Mention for his part in the 400-free relay his freshman year at the 2020-21 National Championships. Fifth year Wildcat Marin Ercegovic is adding one more All-American honor to his resume, having earned three of the awards at the 2019-20 NCAA's in the 100 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Arizona diver Bjorn Markentin is collecting his third CSCAA All-American award, and his second in the platform dive. On Saturday, the senior Wildcat placed 16th overall in the championship event, securing his spot on the All-America team. As a freshman, Markentin earned All-American honors in both the platform and 1-meter dives at the 2019-20 National Championships.
