LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Arizona beach volleyball team took on their second Top 20 opponent in as many days at the Pac-12 South Invitational, and in the end it was No. 12 California that came out on top by a score of 5-0.

Arizona falls to 5-2 on the season while Cal improves to 4-2.

In the lone match to go three sets, the No. 1 pair of
Sarah Blacker and
Alex Parkhurst dropped the first set to Ella Dreibholz and Maya Gessner, 21-14, before rallying for the 24-22 win in set two. Then in the final set, it was back and forth the entire way before Cal pulled out the final three points to get the 15-12 win.

Next up for Arizona will be a visit to No. 18 Pepperdine next weekend for matches against the Waves and San Francisco.
