WALNUT, Calif. – Arizona Track and Field will head to California for the 63rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays this Thursday through Saturday for their first away meet in a couple of weeks. The women's team enters the weekend ranked 20th in the USTFCCCA rankings, while the men's team ranks 25th.
"Last week we kicked off championship season with a bang at the Jim Click Shootout. We had 32 NCAA first round performances with both the men and the women," said Head Coach
Fred Harvey. "Mt. SAC is one of the top relay carnivals in the world. We will have the opportunity to test ourselves against some of the best collegiates and professionals in the world. This will be another test for us as we get closer to the Pac-12 Championship. At this time, our women are ranked second, and our men are fifth in the Conference of Champions. I expect to see a continuation of last week as the level of competition gets higher."
The Mt. SAC Relays is a highly competitive meet that will feature some of the best teams and athletes in the nation and the world. The overall meet will begin Wednesday, but the first Wildcat competitors won't get started until Thursday evening. Thursday's events begin at 10:00 a.m. MST with the Wildcats competing in the men's and women's 10,000m to cap off the day at around 9:00 p.m. MST. Friday will get started at 9:00 a.m. MST with the men's javelin and the women's high jump.
