AUSTIN, Texas – The Arizona Men wrapped up their portion of the competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday. Youssef Koudssi was the lone Wildcat to compete on the day, and he posted a personal best performance in the men's discus. Overall, the men's team placed 17th at the outdoor championships to cap off their season.
 
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
Youssef Koudssi displayed an incredible effort in the men's discus after competing in the shot put on Wednesday as well. Koudssi placed 11th overall in the event with a new personal best throw of 59.73m (195-11). He competed in the first flight of the event and all three of his throws during that portion of the competition surpassed the personal best mark that he entered with. All three of his throws went over 58m as well. After the completion of flight one, Koudssi sat in third place, but was bumped down to 11th after the second flight finished. Even though he didn't advance to the event final, he consistently competed at his season's best for three straight throws at the highest level of collegiate competition. His new PR is also ninth all-time in school history.
 
The Arizona Men ended the meet in 17th with a total score of 16 points, which came from Jordan Geist in both the shot put and hammer throw on Wednesday.
 
The Wildcats will wrap up their final meet of the season tomorrow with the conclusion of the NCAA Championships. Alexa Porpaczy (high jump 5:30 p.m. MST), Tapenisa Havea (discus 5:35 p.m. MST), and Talie Bonds (100m hurdles 6:42 p.m. MST) will compete for the Arizona Women.
