TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Athletics' annual Hispanic Heritage Night celebration is set for Arizona Football's home game versus UTEP on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 8 pm, inside Arizona Stadium. The University of Arizona will host a day-long celebration of the vibrant Hispanic culture of Southern Arizona, with special activities taking place throughout the campus.
Arizona Athletics is partnering with the UA Hispanic Alumni Association, Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives, Adalberto and Ana Guerrero Student Center, UA Latinx Faculty and Staff Association and the UA Office of Government and Community Relations, among others.
The UA Hispanic Alumni Tailgate opens at 5 pm on the southwest corner of Cherry Ave. and University Blvd. It will feature special Hispanic Heritage Night pregame music by Tecnobanda La Picosa, entertainment by Exito 93.3 and is open to the public with a $15 El Charro buffet. The game sponsor, Vantage West will honor the Adalberto and Ana Guerrero Student Center and present them with a check during the first half of the game. Mariachi bands and folklorico dancers will collaborate with the Pride of Arizona Marching Band to put on an exceptional halftime performance to cap off the celebration.
