Springfield, MO. - The Arizona Triathlon team completed their NCAA West National Qualifier triathlon tied with Arizona State for the top spot with 614 points. ASU was awarded first place via tiebreaker determined by the place of the sixth finisher for both teams.
Arizona junior Kelly Wetteland led five Wildcats finishing in the top 15, crossing the finish line in second place overall. Margareta Vrablova (fifth), Molly Lakustiak (sixth), Ellison Wolfe (eighth) and Sara Crociani (15th) rounded out the scoring for Arizona while Laura Holansky (17th), Mia Wentzy (21st) and Anika Visser (24th) all finished in the Top 25.
This podium spot also secured the Wildcats a place in the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship, as the top three team are awarded spots to compete in a month on the collegiate national level. Joining ASU and U of A in advancing Arizona State University and No.4 University of Denver.
