TUCSON, ARIZ. — Women's Swim & Dive returns to Hillenbrand this week to compete against Northern Arizona University in Arizona's first meet of 2025.
The Cats faced the Lumberjacks at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season in the All-Arizona D1 Quad. At this October matchup, Arizona defeated NAU with a score of 201-79.
The Wildcats are coming off a dominant 217-131 victory over Big 12 opponent BYU at their last home meet of 2024 Dec. 20-21. The competition against BYU was highlighted by standout performances from many members of the swimming and diving squads, including Paige Armstrong, Kayman Neal, Maria Colombo and Zara Ayazi.
LUMBERJACKS TO WATCH
NAU swimmer Cydnie Perkins was named the Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week Dec.11, having placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.00) and in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.35) when the Lumberjacks faced Utah Tech in early December.
Margaret Wesche, a diver for the Lumberjacks, has also earned conference honors this season after she scored 271.40 in the 1-meter diving event, and 283.75 in the 3-meter in a mid-November tri-meet.
NAU's Elsa Musselman has, this season, posted a quick time for the 200 Fly (2:02.51), just .11 seconds slower than Arizona's top time this season from MJ Neilson (2:02.40).
