SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced the Top 10 candidates for the 2024 Karl Malone Award and Arizona's
Keshad Johnson is included on the list.

Named after Class of 2010 Hall of Famer and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Karl Malone, the annual honor, in its 10th year, recognizes the top power forward in Division I men's college basketball.

Johnson is averaging career highs in points (11.8), rebounds (6.3), assists (1.8), field goal percentage (.554), 3-point field goal percentage (.373), free throw percentage (.778) steals (1.1) and blocked shots (0.8) during his first season in Tucson. He has scored 20 points against Purdue and Utah, setting a career-high with 24 against the Boilermakers. The Oakland, Calif., native has made 19 3-point field goals this season after making a total of 28 during his four years at San Diego State.

In March, five finalists will be presented to Malone and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The Selection Committee for the Karl Malone Award is composed of top men's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.

The winner of the 2024 Karl Malone Award will be presented on a to be determined date, along with the other four members of the Men's Starting Five. Additional awards being presented include the Bob Cousy Award (Point Guard), Jerry West Award (Shooting Guard), Julius Erving Award (Small Forward), and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award (Center), in addition to the Women's Starting Five.
