ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. & FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. & FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona Track & Field is sending nine Wildcats to three different locations this weekend in a last opportunity to increase season best marks and qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
The three meets include the USATF Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M., the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday in Fayetteville, Ark., and the NAU Tune Up on Friday in Flagstaff, Ariz. This will be the last weekend of competition this indoor season for the Wildcats prior to the NCAA Indoor Championships. The top 16 marks in each individual event qualify for the championship.
All three events take place on Friday, with the USATF Indoor Championships being the only two-day competition taking place on both Friday and Saturday. The USATF event can be purchased to stream through

The Wildcats had two meets last weekend: the Texas Tech Jarvis Scott Open in Lubbock, Texas and the Husky Invitational in Seattle, Wash. Most of the team competed at Texas Tech, with the distance crew competing at Washington where they posted numerous personal bests. In Lubbock,
Trayvion White-Austin claimed his second school record of the season, clocking a time of 6.63 in the men's 60m to break the school record in the event that has been held since 2015. He now is the school record holder in both the 60m and 200m. Additionally,
Zach Landa notched his third consecutive shot put victory on the season, throwing a season best mark of 61-10.25 (18.85m). Landa also finished third in the men's weight throw.
Other top finishers in Lubbock included
Tapenisa Havea finishing runner-up in the women's shot put with a new personal best, the women's 4x400m relay team ending in second, and
Jenica Bosko placing third in the women's long jump. Additionally, both
Keilee Hall and
Yan Vazquez clocked the second fastest times in school history in the 600y. Hall finished third overall and Vazquez ended in sixth.
With this being the last weekend of competition prior to the NCAA Indoor Championships, all nine competitors are looking to bolster their season best marks. The top 16 marks in each individual event qualify for the championships and there are several Wildcats right on the cusp of those qualifications. On the men's side, both
Trayvion White-Austin and
Zach Landa rank 15th in their respective events, the 200m and shot put. Although White-Austin's best time of the year is 20.64, due to altitude, it is considered a time of 20.71 when looking at qualification marks. Furthermore,
Tyler Michelini ranks 21st in the shot put and
Sir Jonathan Sims ranks 26th in the triple jump. For the women,
Diana Ramos ranks 28th in the high jump and
Jenica Bosko ranks 30th in the long jump.
In this week's USTFCCCA Regional TFRI, the Arizona Men ranked fourth in the West Region and the Arizona Women came in fifth. In the USTFCCCA Event Squad Rankings, men's shot put retained their first-place ranking as the best shot put event squad in the nation. Other event squads in the weekly rankings include women's long jump in 10th, women's shot put in 17th, women's high jump in 20th, and men's 200m in 20th.
Former Wildcats
Jordan Geist and
Talie Bonds, who both qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships as seniors last season, will also be competing at the USATF Indoor Championships. Geist, an NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Champion in the shot put, will be competing in the shot, and Bonds will be running the 60m hurdles.
A meet recap will be posted
