Tucson, Ariz. - Arizona completed a 2-0 sweep at the Arizona Duals, defeating Park University and Benedictine University at Mesa and maintaining their undefeated home record.
Pair Abby Russell/Olivia McElroy returned to the No. 1 spot at the Duals, after playing at No. 1 for the first time this season this past weekend in Tempe. The two won both of the day's matches in two sets and are 9-4 (.692) this season.
At No. 2, pair Grace Cook/Kylee Fitzsimmons defeated Park University's Grace Baker/Nichole Gary 21-18, 21-16. The pair also won their afternoon match against Benedictine, defeating pair Jewel Carling/Megan Hicks 21-7, 21-10. This is the second tournament the two have played in a pair together and they are 2-1 at No. 2.
On Court 3, Arizona's Hope Shannon/Annie Kost took both matches in two sets. The first time the pair played together this season was at the Pac-12 South Invitational, and they are undefeated at No. 3.
Pair Jess Horwath/Kate Phillips went 2-0 at the Duals, and are 10-3 in their first season with the Wildcats.
Against Park, pair Miranda Erro/Ashlyn Zilliken emerged victorious at No. 5, defeating pair Eliza Pearson/Avery Turk 21-9, 21-7. The pair is 7-4 on the season.
In the afternoon match against Benedictine, pair Elin Kaiser/Meghan O'Meara played together at No. 5 for the first time this season and rose to the occasion, defeating the Benedictine pair 21-12, 21-11.
Next week, the Wildcats will host the Arizona Invitational, playing Santa Clara, Utah, Missouri State and Arizona Christian University.
