TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona will compete at the NCAA West National Qualifier in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday morning for a spot in the USA Triathlon National Championship. Arizona will race in the second heat that is set to begin at 9 a.m. MST at Marine Creek Reservoir.

Arizona placed first at the Duel in the Desert, totaling 60 points to win the race against Arizona State who scored 54 points.
Five Wildcats finished in the top 10 individually and all seven Arizona triathletes placed in the top 12 with Kelly Lyn Wetteland taking first for the third race this season with a time of 29:43:76. Margareta Vrablova was second with a time of 29:59:30. Ellison Wolfe placed fifth with a time of 30:14:57, Ruth Pardy finished eighth with a time of 30:35:00, and Mia Wentzy was ninth with a time of 30:41:31. Molly Lakustiak finished 10th with a time of 30:46:59 and Sara Crociani placed 12th with a time of 31:14:49.
