Greensboro, NC – Arizona is set to compete November 20-22 at the Wolfpack Elite GAC Invite. The swimmers are coming off two big wins against men's USC and women's UCLA to become ranked in both men's (NCAA No. 18) and women's (NCAA No. 23).
 
Day One: Thursday, November 20
 
The Wildcats started the meet strong in prelims, with fourteen swimmers heading to the finals. Tomas Lukminas placed first in the 200 Yard Free (1:31.88), Eleni Gewalt placed third in the 100 Yard BR (59.62), Jake Hutchinson placed fifth in the 200 Yard Fly (46.31), Haakon Naughton placed sixth in the 200 Yard Fly (46.35), and Ralph Daleiden placed seventh in the 200 Yard Free (1:33.48).
 
The momentum didn't stop in the finals. The Cats had nine top-eight finishes and one NCAA A-Cut swim. Haakon Naughton placed fourth in the 100 Yard Fly (46.22), Jake Hutchinson placed eighth in the 100 Yard Fly (47.02), Ralph Daleiden placed third in the 200 Yard Free (1:33.22), and Eleni Gewalt placed third in the 100 Yard BR (59.32).
 
Julia Wozniak, Lila Lillie, Eleni Gewalt, and Maryam Sheikhalizadehkhanghah placed fifth in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (1:36.97). Haakon Naughton, Tavner Wisdom, Tomas Lukminas, and Duncan Henderson placed third in the 200 Yard Medley Relay and punched their ticket (1:23.21). Eleni Gewalt, Julia Wozniak, Riley Botton, and Patricija Kondraskaite placed third in the 200 Yard Free Relay (1:28.34). Hayden Ghufran, Ryan Hardy, Aidan Flanagan, and Taylor Luck placed sixth in the 200 Yard Free Relay (1:18.55)
 
Day Two: Friday, November 21
 
Arizona Swim kept up the momentum this morning in the prelims. Eighteen Wildcats qualified for the finals, and five had top-eight finishes. Tavner Wisdom placed eighth in the 200 Yard BR (1:57.14), Ben Butler placed seventh in the 500 Yard Free (4:20.18), Riley Botton placed fourth in the 50 Yard Free (22.06), Julia Wozniak placed seventh in the 50 Yard Free (22.23), and Tomas Lukminas placed sixth in the 50 Yard Free (19.32).
 
The Cats ended the day just as strong. Swim had twelve top-eight finishes. Ryan Hardy placed eighth in the 100 Yard Back (47.21), Tavner Wisdom placed seventh in the 200 Yard BR (1:56.45), Ben Butler placed seventh in the 500 Yard Free (4:20.49), Riley Botton placed third in the 50 Yard Free (21.97), and Julia Wozniak placed sixth in the 50 Yard Free (22.05).
 
Kayman Neal, Eleni Gewalt, Maryam Sheikhalizadehkhanghah, and Julia Wozniak placed fourth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:33.98). Paige Armstrong, Ellie Fitzgerald, Patricija Kondraskaite, and Riley Botton placed eighth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:37.82). Duncan Henderson, Tavner Wisdom, Haakon Naughton, and Tomas Lukminas placed third in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:04.97). Alexandre Desangles, Mitchell Oliver, Joel Nace, and Ralph Daleiden placed sixth in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (3:08.60). Kayman Neal, Malia Rausch, Maryam Sheikhalizadehkhanghah, and Ava Sutphin placed second in the 800 Yard Free Relay (7:14.44). Tomas Lukminas, Ralph Daleiden, Ben Butler, and Mason Hopper placed first in the 800 Yard Free Relay (6:15.57). Beck Parnham, Wells Cloud, Jake Hutchinson, and Hayden Ghufran placed fifth in the 800 Yard Free Relay (6:31.96).
 
The Wildcats are back in the pools tomorrow at 7:30 MST.
