TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona will compete at the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championship in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday. The Wildcats will race at Tempe Town Lake in Heat A and will start at 3 p.m. MST. Kelly Wetteland, Margareta Vrablova, Molly Lakustiak, Ellison Wolfe, Ruth Pardy, Sara Crociani, and Mia Wentzy will represent Arizona in the championship race. The race will be live streamed on Arizona Triathlon's Instagram (@arizonatriathlon) beginning at 2:50 p.m. MST on Saturday.
Last season, Arizona won its first ever Triathlon National Championship in the program's second year of existence, dethroning seven-time National Champions Arizona State.
Last Race
Arizona Triathlon took first place at the NCAA West National Qualifier on Sunday, October 26 in Texas. The Wildcats totaled 450 points to win the race.
Arizona dominated the race, placing seven triathletes in the top 10 and sweeping the top five spots. Kelly Lyn Wetteland placed first for the fourth-straight race with a time of 1:02.23. Margareta Vrablova came in second with a time of 1:02.38 and Molly Lakustiak was third with a time of 1:03.19. Ellison Wolfe placed fourth with a time of 1:03.23 and Ruth Pardy rounded out the top five with a time of 1:03.48. Sara Crociani finished seventh with a time of 1:04.18 and Mia Wentzy placed 10th with a time of 1:05.02.
