TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 15 Arizona (10-1) won the final game of the Bear Down Fiesta, 5-1, over Cal State Fullerton on Sunday.
The Cats scored five runs on nine hits and
Sydney Stewart hit her third home run of the season to help Arizona. Stewart,
Miranda Stoddard, and
Devyn Netz all recorded two hits each.
Arizona took an early 4-0 lead over Fullerton through two innings.
Devyn Netz singled through the left side to score Stewart for the Cats' first run of the game in the first inning. In the third, Stewart homered to bring in three runs and give the Cats a 4-0 lead over the Titans.
Fullerton scored its lone run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth, but Netz drove in her second run of the game with another single through the left side for Arizona's fifth run of the game.
Netz earned the win in the circle, improving to 4-1 on the season. She pitched 6.0 innings, striking out five and allowing just one run on four hits.
Saya Swain entered in relief in the seventh, striking out one of the three Titans she faced.

Arizona will remain at home for the third week of the season to host the Hillenbrand Invitational from Thursday, February 20 through Sunday, February 23. The Wildcats will face No. 1 Texas, No. 22 Stanford, UC Davis, and Colorado State in the tournament.
