FORT WORTH, Texas – Arizona Gymnastics scored a 196.125 to place second against Arkansas, Oregon State, and SEMO at the Metroplex Challenge. Arkansas placed first with a 196.400, Oregon State came in third with a 196.025, and SEMO followed behind scoring a 191.650.
Uneven Bars
Arizona started off the meet on bars where they earned a 48.975.
Abigayle Martin scored a 9.800 and
Aubrey Krohnfeldt followed with a 9.775.
Elena Deets and
Alysen Fears earned a pair of 9.825s to close out the first rotation.
Balance Beam
In the second rotation, the GymCats scored a 49.150. Fears kicked off the rotation with a strong 9.850.
Emily Mueller and Deets had back-to-back 9.875s. Martin anchored the rotation and added a 9.825.
Floor Exercise
The GymCats put up a 48.950 on floor. Senior
Elizabeth LaRusso started the rotation off strong, scoring a 9.800. Arizona had a trio of gymnasts score 9.825s – Fears, Martin and Strom led the rotation.
Vault
For the final rotation of the night, Arizona scored a 49.050 to place second. Strom started the rotation with a 9.850, the highest score for Arizona on vault.
Sophie Derr added a 9.775. Martin put up a 9.825. Mueller and Fears earned 9.80s on the last rotation.
