TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Football program donned shoulder pads and took the field in front of fans for the third day of practice at Arizona Stadium, marking their first spring appearance.
The Wildcats explored various offensive options and maintained a high tempo on both sides of the ball during spring camp. The wide receivers demonstrated breakaway speed and an impressive catch radius on the stadium turf.
Defensively, the team engaged in physical drills and analyzed an explosive set of defensive formations in preparation for the 2025 season.
Following practice, Defensive Coordinator Danny Gonzales, defensive lineman Tre Smith, and defensive backs Genesis Smith and Dalton Johnson spoke with the media.
Quotes of the Day
"Today was our first day in shoulder pads. We ran into each other a little bit. I wish it were 110 degrees out there right now because that's a huge advantage for us—to practice in those conditions and then play in them come September and August. It was nice to be out on the stadium turf, where it's a little warmer. We have a long way to go, but we have some key pieces that give us a chance, and that's very exciting." — Coach Danny Gonzales
"My trip to Bali was an incredible experience. I traveled with Kedrick Reescano and MJ, who is part of Beyond Football. It gave me a new perspective on life and a deeper appreciation for the privileges we have here—privileges that not everyone else has. Coming back, I feel more grateful, more present in every moment, and more committed to giving back, knowing that others may not have the same opportunities." — Genesis Smith
