Wildcats Inside Top Five on Day One of Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational

After 54 holes, the Wildcats sit in fifth place at 11-over par and 11 shots back of the leaders. The Cats carded the third best round in the first round and shot 1-over par. There are currently four Wildcats inside the top 30.

Charlotte Back and Lilas Pinthier are leading the charge for the Cats at 2-over par total. Back who shot even in the first round and followed with a 72. Pinthier who was 1-over in the first round had very steady play and the same result in the second round. Both of them are tied for 20th.

Julia Misemer was tied for the lead at 2-under par in the first round but couldn't keep the hot hand. She is tied for 28th after a 76 in round two. Alongside her in a tie for 28th is Carolina Melgrati who shot 72 in both rounds. Nena Wongthanivmok shot a 76 and a 75 on day one. She's looking to help the Cats catch the leaders tomorrow.

The Cats played solid all day and have kept themselves in the race for the title. They had a combined 23 birdies today which was third most in the field. In addition, they had the third best par four scoring average as a team.
