PROVO, Utah – No. 9 Arizona fell to BYU in the final game of the series, 9-4, on Saturday afternoon. Â

The Wildcats tallied 10 hits but only plated four runs. Seven players recorded a hit while
Dakota Kennedy,
Sydney Stewart, and
Miranda Stoddard each had two hits.
Devyn Netz homered to drive in three of Arizona's runs.

Arizona opened the game with a three-run first inning.
Devyn Netz hit her 12th home run of the season to give the Cats the early lead.

In the second,
Kaiah Altmeyer drove in one run with an RBI single to give Arizona a 4-0 lead over BYU. The Cougars hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to make it a 4-1 game.

BYU took the lead in the fourth inning with four runs. An RBI double and a three-run home run gave the Cougars a 5-4 lead. In the sixth, the Cougars plated four to extend their lead to 9-4 on a two-run double and a two-run home run.

Ryan Maddox threw the first 3.1 innings and allowed three runs on six hits while striking out three Cougars.
Saya Swain relived Maddox in the fourth and faced five batters in the circle, allowing two runs on two hits to pick up the loss and drop to 3-3 on the season. Netz closed out the game, pitching the final two innings and allowing four runs on four hits.
