BOULDER, Colo. — The No. 30 Arizona Wildcats secured a 4-0 sweep over Colorado on Friday afternoon, marking their 17th win of the season and moving to 7-5 in Big 12 competition.
Arizona established early momentum by taking the doubles point. The No. 2 duo of
Josie Usereau and
Stephanie Shogreen delivered a 6-2 victory over Colorado's Stanojevic and Alexin. On court three,
Belen Nevenhoven and
Zoya Chulak followed with a 6-3 win against Tokac and Rebec to clinch the point.
In singles play, the Wildcats continued their strong performance by securing straight-set victories on three courts.
Martyna Ostrzygalo was first to finish on court three, defeating Ema Bubalo 6-1, 6-3. On court one, No. 61 Josie Usereau defeated Mila Stanojevic 6-3, 6-4 to extend the lead to 3-0. Sophomore Teja Tirunelveli delivered the match-clinching point on court five with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lera Alexin.
The Wildcats will now turn their attention to their final Big 12 matchup, traveling to Lubbock to face No. 15 Texas Tech on Sunday, April 13th, at 10:00 a.m. MST. Following that match, Arizona will prepare for the Big 12 Tennis Championship in Waco, Texas.
