Arizona Women's Golf won the Big 12 Championship in its first-ever appearance with a historic comeback on Thursday. Beginning the day in fifth place, the Wildcats forced a three-way playoff with Oklahoma State and Arizona State, the first of its kind in Big 12 Championship history. In a
5-count-5 playoff, the team won with a score of 20, beating ASU by one shot and OSU by two.

Nena Wongthanavimok tied for the runner-up spot in the individual standings at even par. Charlotte Back captured a top-ten finish after a final round 72. Carolina Melgrati finished in a tie for 14th at 6-over par. Julia Misemer finished inside the top 25 with a 74 in her round today. Lilas Pinthier placed in a tie for 47th at 16-over par.

The program, led by first-year head coach Giovana Maymon, will look to carry this momentum into the NCAA Championships beginning May 5th.

Arizona led the field in par four and par five scoring averages. Additionally, they had the second most birdies out of any team in the field. Wongthanavimok played the par fives at 5-under par, the tourney's second-best mark. She and Melgrati were also inside the top ten in par-four scoring average.
