TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball's
Sydney Stewart has earned Big 12 Player of the Week and D1 Softball Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference and the publication on Tuesday. This is the first time Stewart has been honored by the Big 12 and D1 Softball this season.

Stewart led Arizona to a sweep over Houston to close out the regular season with a .714 batting average, two home runs, three RBI, and a 2.389 OPS. She recorded a 1.571 slugging percentage and a .818 on-base percentage to lead the team.

The junior catcher from San Jose, California helped the Wildcats run-rule the Cougars in the first game of the series with a two-run home run. In Arizona's second win of the weekend, she went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs in the shutout over Houston. Stewart helped lead Arizona to its final win of the series with a solo home run, two walks, and two runs scored.

Stewart heads into the Big 12 Championship ranked second in the conference with a .548 on-base percentage, third with 56 RBI, and fourth with 16 home runs.

Stewart and the Wildcats will head to the Big 12 Softball Championship and take on the winner of 7-seed UCF and 10-seed Utah on Thursday, May 8 at 3 p.m. MST at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
