TUCSON, Ariz. – The United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) announced the 25 players on the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List on Thursday and Arizona point guard
Jaden Bradley was included on the list after not making the preseason list.
The organization also released the midseason watch list for the Wayman Tisdale Award, given to the top freshmen in the country and Arizona was the only school to have two representatives –
Koa Peat and
Brayden Burries – among the 15 players on the list.
Bradley and led the Wildcats to an 18-0 record to start the season, the best start for the Wildcats since beginning the 2013-14 season 21-0. He is averaging 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 51.6% from the floor and 46.7% from the 3-point line. On Saturday at UCF, Bradley scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half and was 9 of 10 at the free throw line in the final 1:06 of the game to seal the win.
Burries is averaging 14.3 points per game and shooting 50.5% from the floor this season. He is also adding 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals per contest and has five games scoring 20 or more points to his credit. In Big 12 play, his numbers increase to 15.0 points, 6.4 rebounds 3.0 assists.
Peat got his freshman campaign off to a strong start with a 30-point effort against Florida in the season opener, but has been consistent throughout the season. He is averaging 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists on 56% shooting from the floor. He has four double-doubles to his credit, including a 24-point, 10-rebound effort against Arizona State last week.

At the conclusion of the regular season, the USBWA will name finalists for the award, which is voted on by the entire membership. The winner of the award will be announced at the 2026 Men's Final Four in Indianapolis, with the formal presentation to follow at the annual USBWA Awards Luncheon hosted by the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.

Since the 1988-89 season, the USBWA has named a men's freshman national player of the year and, since the 2010-11 season the award has been named for Wayman Tisdale, the late Oklahoma All-American. The award is voted on by the entire membership of the association at the end of the regular season.
