TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona placed third in a tri-meet hosted by Texas Woman's with Denver on Friday night. Denver won the meet with a 195.850, TWU posted a 195.275 to place second, and the GymCats scored a 193.350.
Abigayle Martin won the beam title with a season-best 9.90 on the event.
Balance Beam
The GymCats opened the meet on beam with a 48.125. Martin anchored the rotation with a team-leading 9.90 to earn a season high score on beam.
Tirzah Wise added a 9.85 in the second spot for Arizona.
Floor Exercise
Arizona put up a 48.750 on floor in the second rotation. Wise led the GymCats with a 9.80 in her floor debut and
Hillary Puleo followed with a 9.775.
Elizabeth LaRusso, Martin, and
Emma Strom all earned 9.725s for Arizona.
Vault
The GymCats posted a 48.900 on vault in rotation three. Martin and
Jessa Janicke led the rotation with a pair of 9.825s. Strom followed with a 9.80 while
Sophie Derr and LaRusso both earned 9.725.
Uneven Bars
Arizona closed out the meet with a 47.575 on bars.
Aubrey Krohnfeldt earned a 9.800, Puleo posted a career-high 9.75, and
Sophia Maisel made her collegiate debut with a 9.725.
