TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona GymCats posted a season best 196.800 against Towson who scored a 195.400 on Friday night in McKale Center.
Arizona swept the event winners against Towson.
Jessa Janicke posted a 9.85 to win vault,
Aubrey Krohnfeldt earned a 9.90 to win bars, and
Abigayle Martin won beam with a 9.90, floor with a 9.95, and the all-around with a 39.450.
Vault
Arizona posted a 49.075 on vault in the first rotation. Janicke anchored the rotation with a career-high-tying 9.85.
Sophie Derr and
Emma Strom added a pair of 9.825s. Martin posted a 9.80 and
Ainsley Greever scored a 9.775 to round out the lineup.
Uneven Bars
The GymCats earned a 49.225 on bars to stay in the lead after rotation two. Krohnfeldt led the team with a 9.90 as the anchor.
Delaney Mead made her debut with a 9.85 and Derr had a 9.85.
Sadie Smith posted a career-high 9.825 while Martin and
Hillary Puleo both scored 9.80.
Balance Beam
Arizona scored a 49.050 to carry the lead into the fourth rotation. Martin posted a 9.90 as the anchor to tie her season high.
Teagan White made her collegiate debut with a 9.85 and
Tirzah Wise also posted a 9.85.
Floor Exercise
Arizona closed out the meet with a 49.450 on floor. Martin earned a career-high 9.95 and Strom also set a career high with a 9.925. Puleo tied her career high of 9.90.
Elizabeth LaRusso led off the rotation with a 9.85 and Wise followed with a 9.825.
