PROVO, Utah – Arizona earned a 195.250 to place second against BYU who scored a 196.300 to win the duel meet on Friday night.
Arizona won three events against BYU.
Abigayle Martin was first on beam with a 9.90 and in the all-around with a 39.325.
Emma Strom won floor with a 9.925.
Uneven Bars
The GymCats earned a 49.025 on bars to open the meet.
Sadie Smith led the team with a career-high 9.85 while three gymnasts –
Sophie Derr, Martin, and
Delaney Mead – all posted 9.80s.
Vault
Arizona posted a 48.650 on vault in the second rotation.
Jessa Janicke posted a 9.825 to lead the Cats in the rotation. Martin added a 9.775 and
Ainsley Greever had a 9.70 on vault.
Floor Exercise
On floor, Arizona earned a 48.825. Strom led the GymCats and tied her career high with a 9.925. Martin followed with a 9.85 and
Tirzah Wise scored a 9.70.
Balance Beam
The GymCats scored a 48.750 on beam in the final rotation. Martin led the lineup with a season-high-tying 9.90 as the anchor. Wise followed with a 9.825 while
Gianna Lenczner had a 9.775 and
Aubrey Krohnfeldt earned a career-best 9.75.
