TUCSON, Ariz. - The Arizona women's tennis team was selected to finish sixth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference Tuesday.
The Wildcats garnered 146 points, slotting them in the sixth position of the 16-team poll.
Arizona is coming off a campaign in which they finished fifth in the Big 12 in their inaugural season as a member of the conference, compiling an 8-5 record in league play and earning a spot in the 2025 NCAA Regionals.
The Cats put together a highly impressive fall season in preparation for the 2026 spring campaign. The fall season was highlighted by numerous individual performances, including Josie Usereau becoming the first singles player in program history to compete in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships, as well as Usereau and Martyna Ostrzygalo becoming the first duo to compete in the Main Draw of the ITA All-American Doubles Championships. Other noteworthy performances included Haylee Conway and Zoya Chulak advancing to the Finals of the Battle in the Bay, marking the first duo to reach the finals since 2016. Stephanie Shogreen also had a significant highlight, as she went undefeated at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Arizona is slated to begin the spring campaign on Friday, Jan. 16 when they will host UC San Diego at LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. The Cats open Big 12 play on Friday, Feb. 27, as they are scheduled to travel to Waco to face Baylor.
