TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 17 Arizona Men's Tennis team returns home this Saturday, February 21 to host UC San Diego in a doubleheader at the Tucson Country Club. First serve is set for 9:00 a.m. (MST), with the second match scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (MST).
The Wildcats and Tritons last met in January 2023 in a doubleheader in Tucson, where Arizona delivered a dominant performance with a 7-0 sweep in the opener followed by a 6-1 victory in the second match. Saturday's contest marks just the second all-time meeting between the two programs.
Arizona enters the weekend ranked No. 17 in the latest ITA National Team Rankings and boasts strong individual representation in the ITA singles and doubles polls. Senior
Jay Friend leads the way at No. 4 nationally in singles. He is joined in the rankings by
Alexander Rozin (No. 66),
Zoran Ludoski (No. 85), and
Filip Gustafsson (No. 97). In doubles, the duo of
Cole Stelse and
Alejandro Arcila holds a No. 73 national ranking.
Updated ITA rankings will be released on February 19 prior to Saturday's competition.
