STANFORD, Calif. – No. 16 Arizona lost 12-2 to No. 3 Texas on the second day of the DeMarini Invitational at Stanford Softball Stadium. Â

The Wildcats were limited to two runs on three hits.
Kez Lucas went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Arizona offense.

Texas plated a pair of runs in the first on an RBI hit-by-pitch and a bases-loaded walk. In the third inning, the Longhorns added two runs to take a 4-0 lead on a two-run triple.

Arizona scored two in the bottom of the third to cut Texas's lead to 4-2.
Sereniti Trice drove in the Wildcats' first run with an RBI single to left field. The second run of the inning came across on a single from
Kez Lucas.

Texas extended its lead to 8-2 with four runs in the fourth on an RBI single and a three-run home run.

The Longhorns scored four in the top of the seventh to take a 12-2 lead. Two runs came in on a two-run single to left field. The third run came across on a bases-loaded walk and the fourth run scored on a an error.

Jalen Adams picked up the loss to fall to 5-3 on the season. She went three innings in the circle and struck out three Longhorns but allowed four runs on six hits.
Rylie Holder relieved Adams in the fourth and gave up seven earned runs in 3.1 innings.
Jenae Berry entered in the seventh to close out the game and walked two batters before finishing the game.
