TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona GymCats posted a 196.625, their second best of the season, against West Virginia who scored a 194.650 on Saturday afternoon in McKale Center.
Arizona swept the event winners against West Virginia. Jessa Janicke posted a 9.875 to win vault,
Gianna Lenczner won beam with a 9.90, while
Sophie Derr and
Emma Strom tied on floor with a 9.90.
Abigayle Martin earned a 9.90 to win bars and the all-around with a 39.40.
Vault
Arizona posted a 48.950 on vault in the first rotation. Janicke anchored the rotation with a 9.875. Derr,
Elizabeth LaRusso and Martin added a trio of 9.775s.
Tirzah Wise and
Ainsley Greever scored a pair of 9.750.
Uneven Bars
The GymCats earned a 49.225 on bars to remain in the lead after rotation two. Martin led the team with a 9.90. Aubrey Krohnfeldt posted a 9.875 and Derr tied her season-best of 9.850. Delaney Mead and
Sadie Smith scored a pair of 9.80 and
Hillary Puleo both scored 9.775.
Balance Beam
Arizona scored a 49.125 to carry the lead into the fourth rotation. Lenczner led off the event with a career-high 9.90. Martin posted a 9.875 as the anchor, while Wise posted a 9.825. Krohnfeldt scored a 9.775 and Derr scored a 7.750.
Floor Exercise
Arizona closed out the meet with a 49.325 on floor. Derr and Strom led the way with a pair of 9.90. This was a career high for Derr. Wize posted a career high of 9.850 and Martin also scored a 9.850. Riley Carman posted a season-high of 9.825 and LaRusso scored a 9.725.
