No. 17 Arizona Hosts Three Top-25 Showdowns in Huge Week at Home

TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 17 Arizona Men's Tennis is set for a pivotal week in Tucson, hosting three nationally ranked opponents as the Wildcats will have their first Big 12 Conference home matches of the season at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
 
The week begins on Tuesday when Arizona welcomes No. 21 Columbia. The matchup marks just the second meeting between the two programs and the first in Tucson. In their previous meeting, Arizona narrowly fell to Columbia, 4-3. The match will feature a marquee singles showdown between No. 3 Jay Friend and No. 7 Michael Zheng, highlighting two of the top players in the nation. Columbia also enters the match with two additional ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams.
 
Arizona resumes conference action on Friday in the Big 12 home opener against No. 8 Baylor. The Wildcats hold a 4-2 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs. Baylor arrives in Tucson with a strong lineup that includes four nationally ranked singles players.
 
The weekend concludes on Sunday as Arizona faces No. 7 TCU. The Wildcats and Horned Frogs have met four times previously, with TCU holding the edge in the series. The match is expected to feature another top-10 singles battle as No. 3 Jay Friend takes on No. 9 Duncan Chan. TCU also brings significant depth, featuring four ranked singles players and three ranked doubles pairs.
 
New rankings will come out on Tuesday, March 17 before the matches are played.
