TUCSON, Ariz.– The SandCats opened their weekend at home for the Arizona Invitational with a 5-0 sweep against Tarleton St. before wrapping up the day with another 4-1 win against UTEP.

The Wildcats were dominant against Tarleton St. to begin their weekend at home, having swept the duel 5-0. All five pairs took their matches in straight-sets.
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Madeline Walker came out strong for Arizona taking their match in straight sets as the #2 pair, 21-12, 21-12
. Carlie Cisneros and
Regan Holmer kept it going early for the Cats as the #1 pair. The duo took their match in two as well 21-18, 21-15 giving Arizona a 2-0 lead in the duel.
Sophia Winter and
Brooke Boyko paired up for the first time of the season and played well. The #5 pair took their match in two sets, 21-11, 21-14, to earn the clinching point for the Cats.
Meghan O'Meara and
Jamie Streit also paired up for the first time of the year, the #3 pair took the match in straight-sets, 21-14, 21-14, extending Arizona's lead to 4-0.
Adri Nieves Papaleo and
Sadie Moore were the last to finish for the Cats and completed the sweep, taking their match in straight-sets, 21-15, 21-16, and giving Arizona the 5-0 win.

Arizona carried their momentum into their second match of the day against UTEP, picking up another strong win.
Adri Nieves Papaleo and
Sadie Moore got things started for Arizona in the second match of the day. The #4 pair picked up a straight set win, 21-13 and 21-9.
Sophia Winter and
Brooke Boyko kept things going for the Cats and picked up a straight-set win 21-9, 21-11, giving Arizona a 2-0 lead in the duel.
Regan Holmer and
Carlie Cisneros earned the clinching point for the SandCats winning their match in two sets, 21-18, 21-15.
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Madeline Walker gave Arizona a 4-0 lead coming out on top in their match in straight-sets 21-19, 21-18. Zilliken also earned her 50
th career win with this win.
Meghan O'Meara and
Jamie Streit battled hard in their match, just falling short in the first set 25-27 before having to give UTEP the win by retirement in the second set.
