TUCSON, Ariz.– The SandCats closed out their weekend at home for the Arizona Invitational with a 4-1 win against Missouri St. before wrapping up the day with another 3-0 win against San Francsico to conclude a 4-0 weekend at home for the Cats.
Game 1 No. 19 Arizona 4, Missouri St. 1
The Wildcats came out strong on Day 2 taking their match against previously undefeated Missouri St.
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Madeline Walker had it going early for Arizona taking their match in straight-sets as the #2 pair, 21-14, 21-15
. Carlie Cisneros and
Regan Holmer kept up their strong play from the first day as the #1 pair. The duo took their match in two as well, 21-17, 21-18, giving Arizona a 2-0 lead in the duel.
Sophia Winter and
Brooke Boyko got their day started with another win, taking their match in straight-sets, 21-19, 21-12, to be 3-0 on their weekend as the #5 pair. The duo also earned the clinching point for Arizona making the score 3-0.
Adri Nieves Papaleo and
Sadie Moore dropped their match in straight-sets, 18-21, 15-21, to give Missouri St. it's lone point of the duel.
Meghan O'Meara and
Jamie Streit also were coming off a strong Friday. The #3 pair picked up set one, 21-15, before dropping set two, 18-21. O'Meara and Streit would come out on top in the third set, 15-9, to finish the duel and give Arizona the 4-1 win.

The Cats ended their weekend on a high note. The Cats swept the match 3-0 as the match was played to decision leaving the other two matches to go unfinished.
Ashlyn Zilliken and
Madeline Walker dominated their match, taking set one, 21-8, before taking set two, 21-16, concluding a 4-0 weekend without dropping a set for the pair
. Carlie Cisneros and
Regan Holmer gave Arizona the 2-0 lead in the duel, taking their match in two sets 25-23, 21-16. The #1 pair also didn't drop a set and went 4-0 on the weekend.
Sophia Winter and
Brooke Boyko got their fourth win of the weekend by earning the clinching and final point of the duel for Arizona, winning their match in two sets, 21-10, 21-16.
Meghan O'Meara and
Jamie Streit battled hard in their match, with the first set going the distance and ending in a final score of 32-30. Their match would then go unfinished in the second set. Adri Nieves Papaleo and
Sadie Moore also fought hard through their first set to come out on top, 23-21. Their match would also go unfinished in the second set.
The SandCats will be in action next weekend, Mar. 27-28, at the Big 12 Preview where they will face Boise State (Fri.), TCU (Fri.) and TBD (Sat.).
