TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona senior
Gianna Lenczner has been named the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced by the conference on Saturday following the Big 12 Championships.

Lenczner is Arizona's second conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in program history. Karun Wurm was named the Pac-12 Student-Athlete of the Year in 2008. Â

Lenczner is on track to graduate from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in accounting and has maintained a 4.00 GPA during her four years at Arizona. She is a three-time WCGA Academic All-American and has been recognized on conference honor rolls twice during her career. Lenczner was accepted to the Master of Accounting Program at Arizona's Dhaliwal-Reidy School School of Accountancy.

As a beam specialist, Lenczner has competed in over 25 meets during her career and holds a career high of 9.90 on the balance beam and ranks 19th in the Big 12 on the event.
