Arizona Dive Qualifies Four for NCAA Championships at Zone E Championships

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona Dive wrapped up competition at the NCAA Diving Zones on Wednesday with five Wildcats qualifying to the NCAA Championships. Arizona saw multiple event qualifiers over the three-day meet, including both freshmen and veterans.
 
The NCAA Diving Zones serve as the final qualifying opportunity for divers to punch their ticket to Atlanta for the upcoming championship meet. Arizona finished the competition with Luke Hernandez, Bo Bridges, Gage DuBois, and Zara Ayazi qualifying on multiple events.
 
Day One
Luke Hernandez, a freshman, punched his first NCAA Championship ticket in the 3-meter today. Hernandez finished with a combined score of 720.30. Bo Bridges is also headed to NCAAs in the 3-meter, with a combined score of 705.10.
 
Three other divers gave it their all on day one of the competition. Zara Ayazi and Alexandria Sando fell short in the finals of the women's 1-meter. Gage DuBois also competed in the men's 3-meter finals but fell short.
 
Day Two
Hernandez had another great performance today, qualifying in the platform event. Hernandez will now compete in two events at the men's NCAA Championships as a freshman.
 
Zara Ayazi secured her spot for the NCAA Championships in the women's 3-meter and will additionally compete in the 1-meter, making her another multi-event qualifier for Arizona.
 
Gage DuBois advanced to the finals of the men's platform, continuing a strong week for the dive squad.
 
Day Three
Arizona closed the meet with another strong day, adding another diver to the mix of NCAA Championship qualifiers. Gage DuBois qualified in the 1-meter, which also secured his qualification in the platform yesterday.
 
Bo Bridges added to his qualifiers today, dominating in the 1-meter event.
 
Luke Hernandez continued his impressive freshman year, officially qualifying in all three events at the NCAA Championships.
 
On the women's side, Zara Ayazi has added to her qualifications and will compete in the platform event at the NCAA Championships.
 
Arizona will now turn its attention to the NCAA Championships, with the women competing March 18-22, and the men competing March 25-28 in Atlanta.
