TUCSON, Ariz.– Arizona closed their weekend at the NOLA Classic with two dominant wins. The Cats started their day by sweeping their duel against New Orleans 5-0 before finishing out the day with another 5-0 sweep over Florida International.
Game 1 Arizona 5, New Orleans 0
Ashlyn Zilliken and Madeline Walker got day two going for Arizona picking up their match in straight sets, 21-10, 21-11 and giving Arizona the early 1-0 lead. Jamie Streit and Sophia Winter followed with another dominant two-set win, 21-10, 21-15, to give Arizona a 2-0 lead.
Carlie Cisneros and Regan Holmer kept it going for the SandCats by winning the clinching point, picking up the extended first set, 26-24, before taking the second set, 21-14, giving Arizona 3-0 lead. Meghan O'Meara and Adriana Nieves
Brooke Boyko and Sadie Moore were the only pair to go three sets but that didn't matter. The #5 pair got the job done winning their match, 23-21, 17-21, 15-5, completing Arizona's second sweep of the weekend.

Jamie Streit and Sophia Winter got things going in the second match for Arizona taking their match in straight-sets, 21-17, 21-12. The #2 pair of Zilliken and Walker kept it going early fighting their way through a hard-fought three set match, 21-14, 14-21, 15-13, making the score 2-0 in favor of Arizona.
Brooke Boyko and Sadie Moore got the clinching point for the Cats winning in straight-sets, 21-16, 21-17, extending the lead to 3-0. Adriana Nieves and Meghan O'Meara kept the momentum going as they won their match in three sets, 26-24, 21-23, 15-8, making the score 4-0.
Carlie Cisneros and Regan Holmer completed the sweep for the Cats winning in a hard fought three set match, 21-18, 17-21, 15-10.
Arizona will be back in action next week (Apr. 23-24) as they host the Big 12 Championships on Bear Down Beach.
