TUCSON, Ariz. - The NCAA announced the women's golf regional fields on Wednesday, and head coach Giovana Maymon and the Arizona Wildcats were selected as the No. 6 seed at the Stanford Regional. The tournament will be played at Stanford Golf Course from May 11-13.
It is the 39th consecutive season that Arizona has been selected for NCAA postseason play dating back to 1987. The Wildcats have made an NCAA Regional every since the format was started in 1993.
"We are honored to once again compete against the best teams in the country at the Stanford Regional," Maymon said. "We played this course back in the fall and had some success, so being able to tap into that experience will benefit us in our preparation. So we will be ready to go in a few weeks and give it everything we have to finish in the top four and move on."
The top four teams at the regional along with the top two individuals from non-advancing teams will move on to the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California from May 22-27.
The Wildcats are ranked No. 33 in the lated Scoreboard rankings that were released yesterday. During the 2025-26 season, Arizona as a team has finished in the Top 5 in five tournaments, including a win at the NB3 Match Play at Twin Warriors back in the Fall.
In the Spring, the Wildcats finished second at the Westbrook Invitational, third at the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate and fourth at the GameAbove Invitational.
Individually, Arizona has been led by junior Charlotte Back, who is ranked No. 33 in the country. She has finished 21st or better in every tournament she has competed in this season, but was forced to miss the Big 12 Championship with an injury.
Senior Nena Wongthanavimok has finished inside the Top 20 in five of the last eight tournaments, including a fourth place finish at the Westbrook Invitational and a sixth place showing at the Huntington Bank Collegiate.
Last year, Maymon and the Wildcats advanced to the Lubbock Regional hosted by Texas Tech but finished eighth and did not advance to the NCAA Championship.
