Arizona Athletics Has 12 Teams Post Perfect APR Scores in 2024-25

TUCSON, Ariz. – The NCAA released the Academic Progress Rate information through the 2024-25 academic year on Tuesday and Arizona Athletics 12 programs earn a perfect single-year score of 1,000 to set a department record. It continues the tradition of Arizona student-athletes excelling in the classroom and on the field.

"Our student-athletes continue to set the standard through their excellence in the classroom, in competition, and throughout our community," said Desiree Reed-Francois, the R. Ken Coit Director of Athletics. "Their success is a reflection of their discipline, resilience, and commitment to maximizing every opportunity during their time at Arizona. It is also made possible by the unwavering support of our academic staff, coaches, staff, administrators, and campus partners, who invest in their growth and success every single day. We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for continuing to achieve at such a high level and deeply grateful to everyone who helps make that success possible."

Teams that rank in the top 10 percent of their sport receive the Public Recognition Award, and three teams at Arizona earned the distinction – Men's Basketball, Women's Cross Country and Women's Tennis. It is the third time Men's Basketball has been recognized, the second consecutive time women's cross country has received the honor and the first time women's tennis has earned the honor.

The 12 teams that posted a perfect single-year score are:
-              Men's Basketball

Men's Basketball's multi-year APR score of 1,000 is ranked first among all Big 12 schools and the highest the program has produced in the last 11 years.

In total, 12 programs posted a single-year APR score above the Division I national average of 986.

The Academic Progress Rate is a measure used by the NCAA to track the academic success and eligibility of student-athletes over time. It provides a clear picture of how well teams are helping student-athletes succeed academically, not just athletically. For more information on APR, visit ncaa.org.
