Five Wildcats Earn NFCA All-West Honors

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Softball placed five on the NFCA All-West Region teams announced by the association on Thursday. Two Wildcats, Sydney Stewart and Regan Shockey, were named to the first team while Jalen Adams, Tayler Biehl, and Sereniti Trice earned second team honors.
 
The five Wildcats are now eligible for the 2026 NFCA Division I All-America teams, which will be announced on Wednesday, May 27.

Shockey is earning her second All-West first team honor and the third all-region honor of her career. The Chino Hills, California native earned the title of Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and All-Big 12 first team honors last week and leads Arizona with 76 hits, 69 runs scored, and a .447 batting average. Shockey ranks second in the Big 12 in hits and runs per game and is third in the conference in batting average and runs scored. Defensively, she carries a .992 overall fielding percentage and recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage during conference action.
 
Stewart is a first-team All-West honoree for the second time in her career and is picking up her third career all-region honor. The senior catcher from San Jose, California was named the Big 12 Player of the Year and the Big 12 Batting Champion last week. Stewart leads the Big 12 and Arizona with 76 RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage. She ranks second in the conference with 20 home runs and a .560 on base percentage. Stewart has maintained a .415 batting average during the season and recorded a .490 batting average during conference play to earn the Big 12 Batting Champion title.

Adams is earning her first All-West nod and second all-region honor of her career. The senior pitcher from Fort Dodge, Iowa earned All-Big 12 second team honors last week. Adams leads Arizona and ranks fourth in the conference with 20 victories. She tossed 10 complete games and was part of five shutouts while holding opponents to a .261 batting average during the season.

Biehl is receiving her first career all-region honor as a member of the All-West second team. Last week, the shortstop from Folsom, California was named the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors. Biehl has driven in 44 runs to rank third on the team and she has maintained a .359 batting average which is fourth on Arizona. She leads the team with 10 doubles and 107 assists this season.
 
Trice is earning All-West honors for the first time in her career. The second baseman from San Diego, California was named to the All-Big 12 second team last week and leads Arizona with four triples. Trice holds a .405 batting average which ranks third on the team and has recorded 68 hits, scored 56 runs, and hit seven doubles to rank second on Arizona.
