Arizona Men's Golf Wins The NCAA Marana Regional And Advances To The NCAA Championships

Arizona Men's Golf wins the NCAA Marana Regional at The Gallery Golf Club, finishing in first place at 49-under overall to secure a spot in the NCAA Championships. Zach Pollo and Filip Jakubcik were co-champions and claimed the individual title in a four-way tie. The Wildcats closed out the tournament with a 14-under final round and capped off the strongest regional performance in program history.

Pollo and Jakubcik become just the seventh and eighth Wildcats to win an NCAA Regional. The last time a Wildcat won was Tarquin MacManus back in 2009 at the Southwest Regional.

Leading the way for Arizona was Zach Pollo, who fired a 6-under 66 in the final round to finish tied for first individually at 15-under overall. Pollo recorded six birdies on the day, as well as a hole-out eagle on hole 8, and finished the tournament with rounds of 72-63-66.

Filip Jakubcik also finished tied for first individually at 15-under after carding a 5-under 67 on Wednesday. Jakubcik posted a bogey-free round with five birdies to complete an outstanding week for the Wildcats.

Taishi Moto added a 2-under 70 in the final round to finish tied for 11th overall at 10-under. Moto totaled four birdies during his round and remained near the top of the leaderboard throughout the tournament.

Tianyi Xiong contributed a 1-under 71 in the final round. Xiong finished the regional at 4-under overall and tied for 22nd individually. William Wistrand rounded out Arizona's lineup with a 2-over 74 in the final round. Wistrand finished the tournament at 2-under overall and tied for 29th individually as the Wildcats advanced comfortably to nationals.
