Wildcats Add GCU Transfer Tristan Berard

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men's Tennis head coach Clancy Shields has announced the addition of Tristan Berard, a sophomore transfer from Grand Canyon University.

A native of Noisy-le-Roi, Berard began his collegiate career at Grand Canyon University, where he quickly established himself as one of the top players in the lineup for the 2025-26 season as a freshman. The 21-year-old competed primarily at the No. 1 singles position for the Lopes and totaled 15 singles victories during the spring season.

In addition to his collegiate success, Berard has continued to build experience on the professional circuit. He has qualified for multiple 25K professional tournaments and recently earned multiple ATP points, showcasing his development against high-level international competition.

"We're really excited to have Tristan join the program," Shields said. "I loved watching the way he went about his business this fall. He's serious about improving, competes the right way, and has a very mature approach to his tennis. He's the type of person that fits our culture naturally. It's a great day for Arizona Tennis."

Berard will join the Wildcats as a sophomore for the 2026-27 season, as Arizona continues to strengthen its program under Shields' leadership.
