TUCSON, Ariz. - Fresh off a record-setting cumulative GPA during the Fall 2025 semester, Arizona student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.413 during the Spring 2026 semester to break the previous record.
It also marks the 17th consecutive semester that Arizona student-athletes have posted a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, extending the longest streak in department history.
"Excellence in the classroom is a core part of the Wildcat experience and a clear example of the Bear Down spirit in action," said President Suresh Garimella. "With student success as our North Star, we are proud to see these student-athletes graduating prepared to lead as agents of positive change across the nation and beyond."
A total of 18 teams posted a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher, led by beach volleyball with the highest GPA across all teams at 3.818. Men's Tennis earned the highest GPA by a men's team at 3.624.
"In what has been one of the most successful seasons of competition across Arizona Athletics, we are equally proud to see the continued excellence of our student-athletes in the classroom," said Desiree Reed-Francois, R. Ken Coit Director of Athletics. "It remains our goal to graduate leaders and compete for championships, and this is another example of the dedication our coaches, student-athletes and staff have to that mission. We will continue to push our student-athletes to be their best in and out of competition on their path to achieving their goals."
Three teams registered their highest Spring semester GPA in their program history – baseball, men's track & field and volleyball.
Spring 2026 Academic Success By The Numbers
- 77% of student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- 50.8% of student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- 21.9% of student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA
- 18 teams earned a semester GPA of 3.0 or better
- Beach Volleyball posted the highest team GPA for the semester (3.818)
- Men's Tennis registered the highest GPA among men's teams (3.624)
In addition to the record-setting GPA, the NCAA released Graduation Success Rate (GSR) numbers during the Fall and Arizona's 92% GSR was also the highest in department history. And earlier this month, the NCAA released the latest Academic Progress Report (APR) and Arizona had 12 teams post a perfect score.
