Wildcats Finish NCAA Championships with 3 First-Team All-American Honors

EUGENE, Ore. – Arizona Track & Field closed competition in the NCAA Outdoor Championships with 3 women receiving First-Team All-American Honors.

Kya Crooke finished 3rd (6-2.75/1.90m), earning First-Team All-American Honors in the high jump.
Hollan Powers finished 4th (6008 Points), earning First-Team All-American Honors in the heptathlon.
Paris Mikinki finished 7th (6-1.5/1.87m), earning First-Team All-American Honors in the high jump.
Emma Gates finished 10th (6-0.5/1.84m), earning Second-Team All-American Honors in the high jump.

Freshman Kya Crooke cleared her personal best height of 1.90m on the first attempt, but failed to clear the 1.93m bar to join the final two competitors. Paris Mikinski cleared her personal best height of 1.87m on the first attempt, but failed to join her teammate over the 1.90m bar. Emma Gates cleared the 1.84m bar on her third attempt, but failed to clear the 1.87m bar.

Hollan Powers broke the Arizona program record with her performance of 6008 points in the heptathlon. She became the first woman ever to record a personal or season best in all seven events at the NCAA Championships. 

Overall, the Arizona women finished 20th with 13 points, while the men finished 47th with 2 points.
