TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona student-athletes
Bryce Melton (Track & Field) and
Molly Ladwig (Women's Basketball) have been selected to represent the Wildcats in the Big 12 Conference's Beyond Borders program, a two-year leadership initiative designed to develop student-athletes through cultural immersion, civic engagement and leadership experiences.

Each Big 12 member institution selected two student-athletes based on their demonstrated leadership and character on and off the field of play. Melton and Ladwig will represent Arizona throughout the two-year program, joining student-athlete leaders from across the conference in experiences designed to foster leadership, service and cultural awareness.
Melton will be a sophomore sprinter on the Arizona track and field team in 2026-27 while Ladwig is a rising sophomore on the Women's Basketball team after appearing in 27 games as a freshman for the Wildcats.
The program begins this week in Washington, D.C., where participants will engage in civic leadership opportunities, meet with members of Congress on Capitol Hill and visit several historic and cultural landmarks, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Participants will also take part in a community impact project in partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation, helping revitalize several spaces at a local middle school while engaging with students through a field day, arts and crafts activities and an educational panel discussion.
Washington, D.C., marks the first experience in the two-year Beyond Borders program, which exposes participants to diverse cultures, communities and leadership opportunities throughout the United States and abroad.
