TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Track & Field head coach Andrew Dubs announced the addition of Brian Allen as the program's assistant coach for throws.
Allen arrives in Tucson as one of the nation's most accomplished throws coaches, bringing more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience. Throughout his career, he has coached 12 NCAA National Champions, 104 NCAA All-Americans and 51 conference champions, while mentoring athletes to 19 performances on the NCAA All-Time Top 25 list. A nationally recognized coach, Allen is a three-time USTFCCCA National Assistant Coach of the Year and five-time USTFCCCA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Brian, his wife Sarah and their three children to Tucson," said Dubs. "Coach Allen is one of the best throws coaches in the entire NCAA.
"He is a great recruiter and developer of talent, not just on an NCAA level, but an Olympic level as well, having coached the reigning Olympic bronze medalist in the men's shot put.
"Beyond just coaching, it is evident to see the impact he has on his student-athletes in life. He is tremendous in fostering genuine relationships with those he coaches."
Allen spent 12 seasons at Missouri Southern State University as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the track & field programs.
