2011-12: Won a national title in the 400 IM at the NCAA Championships...Earned two additional All-American honors with his fifth-place finish in the 200 IM and 12th-place finish in the 200 breast...Received Pac-12 All-Academic first team honors...Shattered his personal best times and posted NCAA "A" cuts in the 200 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM at the Texas Invite.
2010-11: Standout junior season for the Wildcats capped off by an excellent NCAA Championship meet in Minneapolis, Minn....Became a First Team All-American for the first time in both the 200 and 400 individual medleys...Placed fourth overall in the 400 I.M. with a time of 3:43.59 after setting a new personal best of 3:42.37 in prelims...Was eighth nationally in the 200 I.M. in 1:44.49 to earn his second top-eight All-America honor...Scored in his `third' event individually, earning honorable mention All-American kudos with a 12th place finish in the 200 breaststroke.
2009-10: Won the 400 I.M. consolation heat at 2010 NCAA Championships in Columbus, Ohio with a time of 3:42.37...Thompson's 3:42.37 was UA's third fastest of the season...Also had a team top-five time in the 200 I.M. at 1:46.30.
2008-09: Qualified for NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas in his first season at Arizona...Had fifth fastest 200 backstroke time for Arizona with a 1:45.35...Recorded a 1:45.99 in the 200 I.M. at NCAA's...Went 3:46.43 at the Texas Invitational in the 400 I.M.
High School: Was a six-time All-American swimming for Brophy College Prep HS...Class 5A All-Tribune First Team Swimmer as junior and senior...Won both the 200 I.M. and 500 free at 5A-I meet his senior season...Named to Arizona Republic's All-Arizona team setting a new state record in the 500 free.

Why Arizona: I believe that the immense sense of community and team unity is overwhelming and makes me feel like I'm at home. I know that there is often dissention between teammates, but this isn't the case at Arizona. I was impressed with the excellence of athletics as well as academics.
