TUCSON, Ariz.- The fifth-ranked Arizona volleyball team has taken over the top spot in the latest NCAA Division I regional rankings. The Wildcats, 15-2 overall, jumped up two spots from third in the bi-weekly poll conducted by the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee. Southern California, the previous poll leader, dropped to second after losing to the Wildcats last weekend. Pepperdine and UCLA are tied for third.
The rankings for the Pacific Region, which consists of schools from the Pac-10, Big Sky and West Coast Conferences, are as follows:
1. Arizona (5) 15-2
2. USC (4) 14-1
3. Pepperdine (9) 15-3
UCLA (8) 12-5
5. Santa Clara (15) 17-1
6. Loyola Marymount (23) 14-5
7. Stanford (17) 11-6
8. Arizona State 12-7
9. Oregon State 13-6
10. Montana State 16-3
