With the win
the Cardinal extend its consecutive match winning streak to 38.
The Cardinal captured five of the six singles matches and both
doubles
matches. The No. 2 doubles match was canceled due to time
constraints.
In other singles play, Arizona senior Vanessa Abel dropped her
first match
of the season at the No.2 position falling to Stanford's
47th-ranked Teryn
Ashley, 6-2, 6-1.
Arizona logged its lone point of the match at the No. 4 singles
spot where
88th-ranked freshman Uzma Khan outlasted Stanford's 82nd-ranked
Gabriela
Lastra, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.
In doubles action, Stanford's seventh-ranked doubles team of
Teryn Ashley
and Marissa Irvin topped UA"s duo of Abel and junior Michelle
Gough, 9-7 at
the No.1 position.
