WASHINGTON-USA TODAY Baseball Weekly named 13 athletes to its 3rd annual
All-America College First Team; honoring them for outstanding ability on the
baseball field, at the plate and on the mound. College writer Dana Heiss
Grodin picked the players based on their speed, power and excellence as a
team player.
Following are the 13 First Team members and their colleges:
* Starting Pitcher Kip Bouknight, University of South Carolina
15-0 with 16 starts and 2.66 ERA over 121 2/3 innings
* Starting Pitcher Shane Komine, University of Nebraska
135 strikeouts and 11.5 strikeouts per 9 innings with 1.70 ERA
* Starting Pitcher Justin Wayne, Stanford University
