TUCSON, Ariz. Former Arizona diver Angelique Rodriguez will be diving for Puerto Rico in the 2000 Summer Olympics in
Sydney, Australia. Rodriguez, a 1999 honorable mention All-America selection, graduated from UA in May 1999 with a second
bachelor's degree in marketing. She received her first degree from the University of Massachusetts in dance. Rodriguez is now
attending graduate school at Arizona and is working towards a master's degree in sports administration.
When asked how it feels to know that she will be competing in the 2000 Olympics, Rodriguez replied, I don't think that it's real yet,
and I probably won't think so until I get to Sydney. I'm training hard and trying to take things one day at a time.
Rodriguez is training at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center twice a day with Arizona diving team and once a day by herself. Her coach
from Puerto Rico coaches her daily at Hillenbrand.
